At the Achensee Avalanche Training for Ski Tourers mountain & ski guides will explain how to move safely in alpine terrain and prepare for the real challenges of the mountains. It's all about moving away from the perfect social media image and focusing on a responsible and safe mountain experience!

ITINERARY
1st day
- Start at 8.30 at the event centre in Maurach
- Introduction mountain guides and group division
- Distribution of emergency equipment (avalanche transceivers, shovels, and probes)
- Ascent to the Erfurter Hütte by Rofan cable car
- Tour planning at the hut (interpreting the avalanche report, map reading, etc.)
- Weather science
- Completion of the avalanche educational trail in the Rofan mountains
- In-depth avalanche transceiver search, including shovelling out and multiple burials
- Approx. 16.00 Return to the hut
- Group dinner at the Erfurter Hütte mountain hut
2nd day
- From 7.30 breakfast at the Erfurter Hütte mountain hut
- Repetition of avalanche knowledge learned in the field and technical exercises
- Snow physics (e.g. sliding blocks and analysing the snow cover)
- Group avalanche emergency training, including first aid
- Avalanche emergency training with a second group, including first aid
- Approx. 15.00 Return to the hut
- Return to the Event Centre in Maurach together and return your emergency gear
